In-patient services


  • Routine Newborn Care
  • Level II 6-bed Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)
    a) Care for preterm & LBW infants
    b) Care for sick neonates
    c) Neonates requiring special procedures like ventilation, dialysis,
    phototherapy, exchange transfusion and post operative care
    d) Retinopathy of prematurity screening
    e) Developmental screening for High Risk Newborn

Paediatric ward
(1 – 18 years)
The department has a 60-bed paediatric ward and a 6-bed Paediatrics Intensive Care Unit (PICU). Children in need of close monitoring of clinical parameters, special procedures, paediatric dialysis and those with malignancy requiring chemotherapy are treated here. Children with Cleft Lip & Cleft Palate are also treated under the SMILE Programme. Besides this, the hospital conducts peripheral camps every month at Boliyar, Natekal, Bajal and Nitte.

KSHEMA Children’s Kidney Care Center

The Children’s Kidney Care Center (CKCC) which is a unique platform for focused and comprehensive care of kidney diseases in children, was inaugurated on April 24,2009 by the Vice Chancellor of Nitte University, Dr. Shantharam Shetty. The CKCC is a first of its kind in the city and will be part of a network of similar centers across the country in the near future.
