Ongoing research on:

  • Molecular analysis of periodontal microbes and their association with atherosclerotic plaques in patients with coronary artery disease.
  • Impact of pharmaceutical care on clinical outcomes and quality of life for coronary heart disease patients in tertiary care teaching hospital.
  • Endothelial dysfunction in patient with periodontitis.
  • Association of lipoprotein (a) in patient with Ischaemic Heart Disease.
  • Correlation between myocardial strain pattern and chronic periodontitis.

Out Patient Department

The Out Patient Department’s primary mission is to deliver high quality cardiovascular care by listening carefully to all our patient’s concerns and trying to devise the very best evaluation with advanced technology and the best practices in non invasive Cardiology.

Non invasive Workup of patients:

  • ECG
  • Treadmill test (TMT)
  • 2D&4D Echocardiography–both Transthoracic and Transoesophageal
  • Stress Echocardiography&strain rate imaging
  • Holter Monitoring
  • Ambulatory BP Monitoring

The Department has 3 full time Echo Technicians and 4 Nursing Assistants who work in both Out patient and Critical Care Units.

The Department also has 2 cardiac secretaries who work behind the scenes and take care of the reporting, discharge summaries, maintaining cardiac data base of all patients treated on OP and IP basis for the smooth running of the department.
