KSHEMA IVF is the first full-fledged, state-of-the-art IVF Lab affiliated to a University Hospital in the City of Mangalore. The Department aims to provide advanced fertility treatment to childless couples to fulfil their cherished dream of achieving a pregnancy, in a safe, friendly and confidential environment. Set in the verdant greenery of our Deralakatte Campus, this Centre has already achieved hundreds of successful pregnancies by IVF, IUI and other treatment modalities. Being nurtured in a unique research oriented environment of Nitte (Deemed to be University), our Centre focuses on innovative fertility research and providing quality care at affordable prices. The Department prides itselves in taking challenging cases and providing individualized fertility care for couples.

  • In-vitro maturation of oocytes.
  • Gene Polymorphisms in Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS) -Vitamin D Receptor Gene, INS VNTR in PCOS.
  • Genetic basis of Male Infertlity.
  • Trace elements in Follicular fluid and IVF outcomes.
  • Conventional freezing vs Vitrification of Semen- Effects on Semen parameters.

Speciality Services

  • Initial Evaluation of the couple & Investigations.
  • Follicular ultrasound imaging and fertility hormonal assays, endocrine evaluation.
  • Tubal patency tests: Hysterosalpingogram (HSG), Laparoscopy.
  • Endoscopy: Laparoscopy & Hysteroscopy.
  • Ovulation Induction including gonadotropin injections.
  • Male infertility evaluation: (i) Semen Analysis (ii) Genetic Testing – karyotyping, Y-chromosome microdeletion test (iii) Sperm DNA-fragmentation assay, (iv) Urology/Andrology evaluation for sexual dysfunction, i.e., erectile dysfunction, ejaculatory dysfunction etc.
  • Intra-uterine insemination (IUI).
  • In-vitro Fertilization (IVF) and Intra-cytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI).
  • Egg, sperm, and Embryo cryopreservation (freezing).
  • Surgical sperm aspiration procedures in severe male infertility (TESA, MESA and PESA) along with ICSI.
  • Donor oocyte program for those with poor ovarian reserve and advanced age.

Achievements

  • The first IVF Baby of KSHEMA was born on 14th August 2017. She was conceived by an innovative mild Stimulation regime which was affordable to the couple.
  • First IVF baby conceived by Donor Egg was delivered on 25th February, 2020 to a 42 year old woman.
  • First baby born of Frozen embryos (“snow baby”) born on 22nd April, 2017.
  • Another major milestone was Oocyte (egg) freezing was done first time in our Lab in January 2020.
  • The Department has already completed 110 IVF cycles so far.
