A new "CELLOMICS" laboratory (part of Indo-Japan MEXT Project) at Central Research Laboratory, KS Hegde Medical Academy with state-of-art facilities for invitro cell culture was inaugurated on 12th September 2022 by Shri. N Vinaya Hegde, Chancellor, Nitte DU. The project investigators from the Faculty of Medicine, University of Miyazaki, Japan - Dr. Madhyastha Harishkumar, Sr. Assoc. Professor, Dept. of Applied Physiology; Prof. Dr. Hirotake Sawada, Dept. of Paediatrics; Dr. Takuji Hinoura, Asst. Professor, Dept. of Public Health and Dr. Muraoka Jyuunske, Dept. of OB&G and Professor & Chairman, Department of Public Health, University of Miyazaki Dr. Yoshiki Kuroda were present at the inaugural function. The inaugural program was followed by guest lectures by Dr. Shipra Sonkusare on Environmental Toxins & Pregnancy; Dr. H Gangadhara Bhat and Dr. B Naveenchandra on Applications of Geo-information Technology in Public Health
